Game On!
If you picked up your copy of today’s Buffalo News, not only did you see the fantastic article with equally stupendous photos on the front page of the Life section, you probably also saw us on the front page.
That’s right: standing right next to Sid the Kid is Krista Van Wagner, our first Nickel City Chef to be challenged. This juxtaposition got me thinking. Was The News subtly trying to imply that each one of our competitions between a challenging chef in their own gritty knock out drag down Game 7 against a defending Nickel City Chef?
We all know how exciting the Stanley Cup Finals have been, and how great the playoffs have been for Hockey. The excitement that has been building around Nickel City Chef in the last few days has been almost as intense (we don’t get to check anyone without assault charges). We’re at that point in production where our questions get answered, posters come in, materials get printed, and everything begins to coalesce: local chefs, local cooks, local printers, local suppliers, and local sponsors. The months of hard work (111 games is nothing in comparison to two years) are taking shape and leading up to a one-of-a-kind local event—which is great for Buffalo.
Maybe the comparison isn’t that far off.
So while the Pittsburgh and Detroit are slugging it out for the cup this Friday, get your tickets for one of this summer’s four competitions, and see the excitement for yourself.
